Cookie policy

Last Updated: July 9, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PostExchange uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit postexchange.io. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your preferences and login status — to make your next visit easier and more useful.

We also use similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, which serve similar purposes. References to “cookies” in this Policy cover all of these.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We organize cookies into three categories. You can control which categories you accept via our cookie banner and the “Cookie Settings” link in our website footer.

2.1 Essential Cookies (always on)

These are required for the Platform to function and cannot be turned off. They do not require consent.

  • Session and authentication cookies (keep you logged in).
  • Security tokens (CSRF protection).
  • Load-balancing and routing cookies.
  • The cookie that records your consent preferences themselves.

2.2 Functional Cookies (optional)

These remember your preferences to improve your experience. They are off by default until you accept.

  • Language and locale preferences.
  • Saved searches and filters in the marketplace.
  • UI preferences (dashboard layout, dark mode if available).

2.3 Analytics and Marketing Cookies (optional, off by default)

These help us understand how the Platform is used and improve it. They are off by default until you accept.

3. Third-Party Services

Some features depend on third-party services that may set their own cookies:

  • PayPal — payment processing; sets cookies during the checkout / payout flow only.
  • Google Maps — used on our Contact page; sets cookies when the embedded map loads.

These services have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend you review.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

4.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit PostExchange, non-essential cookies (Functional, Analytics, Marketing) are disabled by default. You can accept or customize cookie categories through our consent banner. You may update your preferences at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in our website footer.

4.2 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We support the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser transmits a GPC opt-out signal, our platform will automatically detect it and treat it as a valid request to opt-out of marketing and behavioural tracking cookies — even if you have not interacted with our cookie banner.

4.3 Browser Controls

You can also control cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, view what cookies have been set, and set preferences per site. Disabling essential cookies may break key Platform features.

4.4 “Do Not Track”

Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not standardized. We follow the GPC standard instead (see Section 4.2).

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform.
